In January 2026, Chengdu Miji Technology Co., Ltd. successfully delivered a terahertz near-field micro-spectroscopy system to a university in Yunnan.
The system consists of a terahertz time-domain spectrometer, a lock-in amplifier and an atomic force microscope. The terahertz time-domain spectrometer emits terahertz signals, which are focused onto the terahertz tip through an off-axis parabolic mirror to complete single-point signal acquisition. The lock-in amplifier then demodulates the acquired signal to extract the near-field signal from background noise and far-field signals, separating the first-, second- and third-order signals. The collected single-point signals are then plotted to produce terahertz images.
Its maximum scanning range is 90 µm × 90 µm × 9 µm.
