In March 2026, Chengdu Miji Technology Co., Ltd. successfully delivered a nano near-field imaging spectroscopy system to a university in Shenzhen.

The system consists of a self-developed terahertz time-domain spectrometer, a lock-in amplifier and an atomic force microscope. The terahertz time-domain spectrometer emits terahertz signals, which are focused onto the terahertz tip through an off-axis parabolic mirror. The lock-in amplifier demodulates the acquired signal to extract the near-field signal from background noise and far-field signals, separating the first-, second- and third-order signals. Imaging these signals produces the desired terahertz near-field images.

Key technical specifications:

(1) Terahertz far-field spectral coverage: 0.05–5 THz, with a signal-to-noise ratio greater than 90 dB.

(2) Scanning range: 90 µm × 90 µm × 9 µm.

(3) Spatial resolution of the terahertz near-field optical imaging module: no less than 40 nm.

(4) Near-field spectroscopy transmission in the 0.5–2.5 THz range.

(5) Bright-field optical microscope: equipped with a 5-megapixel CCD camera; optical resolution better than 2 µm; 20× objective; travel range 5 mm × 5 mm.
